| So...I haven't written for a long time...I am at the Perfect Cup sitting next to Brandi who is also on the computer. I moved to a new apartment (The Barclay Club). It is only a mile from the old place, but now it is a three bedroom and Brandi and I are rooming with Erica--Brandi's friend from work. Anyway...St. Louis was a blast....what else? Hmmm...I met Tim's family (they were really nice). His dad even helped me move my bed on Tuesday--that was SO nice of him. I saw "Harold and Kumar" (I loved it), I also saw "The Village" with Tim and his relatives (it wasn't that great). Oh...I also saw "Napoleon Dynamite"--I thought it was really funny! Anyway...it is already August--fall is almost here--crazy. Anyway...I will try to write more late. Take Care. --K | | |
| Well...the July 4th weekend is already over! Leah is already back in NYC and I am going back to the Westin tomorrow afternoon...time flies. I just have to work for 11 more days and then a trip to St. Louis! It will be nice to get away for a little bit. I had a really great weekend while Leah was here and I also got to see Tim on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday (that hardly ever happens!). On Friday Tim and I went on a walk in Parkville and then we took my Lancer to get the oil changed (so exciting!). Then Tim and I went out to Tomfooleries with Brandi. I picked Leah up around 11 PM on Friday--it was so good to see her! On Saturday we went to City Market--had breakfast at the Coffee Place and then Tim met us there. We walked around for a bit--it was great seeing the "Crafts and Shit". Then I showed the two of them my hotel--my boss was of course flipping out! We took Leah to the Plaza where she spent $180 on jeans and two shirts at Saks--crazy! The three of us had lunch at the Classic Cup and drove around the rich houses of KC. Later that night we met Tenisha at Bulldog...then we went to the Beaumont Beach Club (for like ten minutes!!). Funsho showed up at the Beach Club and then Tim, Leah and I drove to my apartment. The next morning (July Fourth!) we went to breakfast at IHOP. Leah and I went to Lawrence (only to find everything was closed!). Then we went to Tim's in Olathe where he made us this great dinner--hamburgers, "ding-dongs", corn, string beans...and then the delish strawberry shortcake. The three of us went to Leawood for a great fireworks display. We played frisbee and Leah flipped out over the bugs. Today (the last day) Leah and I went to Parkville and watched The Terminal (Tom Hanks movie). I liked it...Leah didn't. After I dropped Leah off at the airport, Brandi and I went to see Superman 2--it was good, but I am movied out. Anyway...it was a wonderful weekend. Talk soon. | | |
| When I came home from work on Thursday night, there was an injured sparrow in front of my door. It would not fly away when I got close to it. I felt really bad and asked Brandi if we should call animal control (I really think that was a bit extreme--it was a sparrow and it was 1 AM--the animal control people would not care). We both looked at it and thought it was just going to die and decided to let it die alone. So....it flipped over on its back and died. Now we have a dead sparrow in front of our door--I wonder if it will stay lying there like our newspapers. No...I will bury it tomorrow. I have a feeling it is a really bad omen though! I mean--A bird dying on your doorstep?? That is pretty extreme. I have been researching omens online this evening and it says that birds are usually bad luck. I also found this out :
"It is said that the sparrow was at the crucifixion of Jesus and it encouraged the Romans to torture Jesus as it kept shouting he is alive he is alive, its this reason today when you see a sparrow it will walk away rather than fly as it prefers to stay and see what's going to happen. The sparrow is a symbol of the Gods and bad luck to kill one"
Well...it is bad luck to kill one...but we didn't...it just died. Hmmm....anyway...I have been having weird dreams about work and life and such. Last night I had a dream that Tim was leaving to go somewhere and I got him a "goodbye" card and flowers, but then we were in this old house in New Jersey with Brandi. Then Brandi and Tim starting asking me history trivia questions about the old house and the people who lived in the house. I didn't know the answers and they were snickering at me. Then Tim had to leave and I walked him to the door and then I said, "Oh! I forgot the card!" and ran back to get his stuff. When I went back to the door I asked Brandi, "Where's Tim?" and she said "Oh...he already left". It was pretty weird.
I talked to Mimi and Devon on a conference call tonight. We are all gonna try to plan a get-together sometime--I haven't seen them in over a year!! Crazy. Maybe one day we will all three live together (like the Golden Girls, except younger!). Ok...good night! | | |
| This job is really getting to me! It is 4 AM right now and I just woke up from dreams/nightmares about checking people in and making sure that we are following ARRIVAL--that is really not cool! Anyway...today is my day off--I am really excited. I wish I could sleep though. I have been looking at houses for sale again. Maybe I will go to Petfinder.org and look at all the cute dogs that are up for adoption! I need a dog desperately . I am listening to Careless Whisper by Wham. My life is sad--hee hee. So...Leah is coming out to visit a week from today and I actually got the days off! I am so looking forward to that. Anyway...I am gonna look for a cute dog. Have a good night/morning! | | |
| It's 9:30 PM on Sunday night--I need to get ready for work in 30 minutes. I work the overnight shift today and tomorrow. I am already really tired even though I took a 3 hour nap today (hypersomnia--that is what Brandi and I think we have ). Anyway...VICA is coming to the hotel tomorrow--I am really not looking forward to it--we are sold out pretty much every day this week--dun dun dunnn! I called my dad this morning to wish him a happy father's day--he and mom are looking at open houses today. I made french toast for Tim today, but they didn't come out the way mom makes french toast. Oh well. That's life. Anyway...I better get going! I will write more later. | | |
